Samba!
I just found out I won a spot in Phaze's Samba series! My story, Isle of Desire, will be released at the end of July! Here's a blurb:
Is it really possible to fulfill the fantasy of a promise made in the passion of youth? On a beach on the small Venezuelan island of Isla de Margarita, Isabel Asher meets once more the love of her life, Rafael Cruz, the man she left behind twelve years earlier. Desire ignites, but can the sultry tropical nights spent in his bed lead them back to love? She’s about to find out, and maybe to have her heart broken in the process.
I'm very excited-this is a great opportunity to keep my name out there until my first Bantam book comes out in 2007.
In other writing news, I signed my contracts today with Berkley for my novella, Sanctuary, which will be released in early 2008 as part of a three-author anthology with Jaci Burton and Lisa Renee Jones. These are a couple of wonderful authors! I recently was a guest speaker at a workshop on promotions run by Lisa Rene Jones. Let me say, the woman is a promotional genius! And Jaci Burton, well, after 32 published books you probably know who she is, but if not, I highly recommend you find out! You should take a look at their sites:

Meanwhile, I'm still working on The Lair for my second Bantam release, a single-author, three-novella erotic BDSM anthology. I'm about 3/4 of the way through. This story is going on longer than anticipated-there's still more story to tell! Hopefully my editor won't mind.
I also wrote a story the other day which was inspired by my recent trip to Mexico called Soul Strangers. It's a short, narrative piece that I really like, but it's not for publication-I'll probably use it as a teaser on my website.
Okay-off to meet my ever-mounting deadlines!

Mexico!

I got back late last night from a trip to Mexico! I'm exhausted, but it was well worth it. I went to a spa in the mountains in a little town called Ixtapan de la Sal.
This area is gorgeous, and very different from other places I've been to in Mexico. The terrain is incredibly lush and green, a little bit of tropics mixed with pine trees. Flowers everywhere and birds singing-peaceful and lovely. I spent four days swimming in the pools, soaking in the jacuzzi, which was in this lush grotto and became my favorite spot. Lots of spa time-too much, actually. Who ever thought I could overdose on spa time? But there were daily massages, reflexology, facials, pedicure, hair treatments...okay, I'm really not complaining, but next time I think I'll forgoe a few spa treatments to get in a little more pool time.
This was also a very romantic-and sexy-spot and has inspired all kinds of story ideas. That jacuzzi grotto will definitely show up in one of my stories, maybe two. On the flight home I was already formulating an idea. Of course, with my current deadlines, I don't know when I'll have time to write anything else, but this story is nagging at me, and I already know my characters. They'll start talking to me soon and then I'll have to write this one whether I have time or not!
I don't have a title yet, but there are scenes happening in my head...two people who come to this resort, each by themselves. They meet, the chemistry is intense, stunning, impossible to deny. Of course, my male character is always important, and he's already fully formed in my head. One of those really beautiful bad boys with a goatee and tattoos, but smart, educated, and with a sensual sensibility about everything-always a lethal combination for me. I can see him already, know exactly what he looks like, know the texture and scent of his skin. He'll have a tiger on his shoulder, done in classic Japanese style, a symbol of power. And that power will translate into the bedroom. This story will definitely have some kink in it-something about him...it can't be any other way...
Ah, I'm getting carried away already-my deadlines may have to wait!

Summer Releases!
Some of my erotica author friends have books coming out this summer and I have to tell you about them!
First is Sasha White's Bound, available at the end of this month from Berkley's new Heat line. If you like your erotica with a little kink, this is the perfect story for you! You can check it out on her website: http://www.sashawhite.net/
Jennifer Colgan writes in a softer, sensual style-great sci-fi romance! Her latest release, Flight of the Valkyrie, is available now at New Concepts Publishing. Her website is gorgeous-you must visit! http://www.jennifercolgan.com/
Vivienne King writes lush erotic fantasy, and her new book, Fire and Ice, is no exception! It's available now at Cobblestone Press, but take a look at her lovely website before you click over to Cobblestone: http://www.vivienneking.com/
My friend Cassidy Kent has been busy again. Her Phaze Surge series release, Sunset Key, is still available at www.Phaze.com, and her upcoming release, Santa's Helper, will be available through Amber Quill Press on June 11th! She has a really slick website: http://www.cassidykent.com/home.html
Okay-that should get you through a few sultry summer nights! And if not, you can always check out my release from last summer-Heat Wave is still available at www.Phaze.com as one of their Sparkler Heat Sheets. I hope to have another book out with Phaze soon-hopefully they'll like the two short novellas I recently submitted. Keep your fingers crossed for me!
In writing news, I'm back to working on The Lair, the second story in my 3-novella anthology I'm writing for Bantam. I just passed the half-way point and the story is going really well. It's very dark, very fantasy-driven. Very different from my other work. I'm having a great time with it, letting my imagination run a bit wild. I'm thinking of changing the title, but I'll wait and talk to my editor first. Meanwhile, the new prospective title is a secret.
Countdown to my Mexico trip: 5 days! I plan to lounge by the pool, have a massage, lounge by the pool, have a pedicure and lounge by the pool. Oh, and I might have a margarita in there somewhere. Gad, I sound like Cassidy, except she lounges by the pool in Monaco or St. Tropez and drinks champagne served by beautiful young poolboys named 'Marco'.
Lots of writing to do before I go-and after I get home. But a little R&R will recharge me and help me get through my summer writing schedule.
