First Peek at THE DARK GARDEN Cover
~THE DARK GARDEN~due from Bantam June 2007!
Finally-here's a sneak preview of my cover and a blurb about my upcoming erotic novel!
Surrender has its own rewards…

This scintillating erotic debut tells the deliciously potent tale of one woman’s quest for self discovery-in the intriguing underground world of Los Angeles’s club scene…

Rowan Cassidy likes to be in charge—especially in her personal life. As a Mistress at Club Privé, the most exclusive bondage/S&M club on the West Coast, Rowan can live out her dominant fantasies safely, and with complete control—until Christian Thorne walks in. Self-confidant and sophisticated, he’s a natural dominant if Rowan’s ever seen one. Yet she can’t stop thinking about him and imagining his touch.

Christian has returned home from Europe, hoping to break free from his dissatisfaction and malaise—and discovers the cure in Rowan. He’s dying to get his skilled hands on her and watch her surrender, to unlock the mystery of her that captivates him. Determined to be her Master, he makes Rowan a daring proposition: give herself over to him for thirty days.

Rowan finds Christian’s offer terrifying—and impossible to resist. But abandoning herself to Christian’s power might be more than she can handle…Or it might be the realization of her true nature and the dark garden within her. There will be only one way to find out. And once the game has begun, there’s no turning back.

The End of an Era

The day before Thanksgiving, I had to put my cat to sleep. T'pring was almost 19 years old-she's been through everything with me: two marriages and two divorces, the deaths of my brother, my best friend, my grandparents, my mother. She was there when, fourteen years ago, I had to take custody of my god-daughter. She was such good company for her during those difficult months-slept on her bed every night. She was there when I wrote my first book almost 20 years ago-just a kitten, playing in the sheets when I was sick in bed for a week and looking for a way to entertain myself. She was there when I got the news that I'd sold my first e-book. She was in my lap when I found out I'd sold to Bantam.
My life will be very different without her, I've realized. What a strange concept, after all these years together! I don't have children of my own, so my cats have been my babies. We lost our boy, Fuzzface, last year. None of us have been the same without him. But now I feel a little lonely and bereft-and I'm probably driving my dogs crazy smothering them with attention!
Reminding myself that this is a natural part of the cycle isn't helping much today. She hadn't been well this past year, and it was time to let her go. I know that. But I'm going to miss her.

Jax joins me on the dark side...

So-today Jax and I were supposed to write, but instead we went to Studio City Tattoo to check out some designs for her. She found the perfect one, so she decided to just go for it!
This is the Sanskrit 'Om' symbol-the sacred symbol representing the voice of the Universe. The various curves represent the different levels of consciousness, and the symbol and what it represents is said to embody the essence of the Universe-a huge creative force. I think it's really beautiful!
She was very brave-okay, maybe not in those moments right before he touched the needle to her skin-LOL! She didn't quite believe me when I told her it wouldn't really hurt. I don't think she actually enjoyed the process as much as I did when I got my tattoo in September, but she got through it just fine-and even had a big endorphin-induced grin at the end!
So-what was I supposed to be writing today? I'm working on a short novella, hopefully for the Phaze Fetish line, if I can get it done in time, and if they like it, of course. The title is Breaking Skye, a BDSM-themed story-my first for an e-publisher! Deadline is December 1st, and I also have to do revisions on my three-novella anthology for Bantam because my release date just got bumped up, and tonight I found in my e-mailbox first round edits on my next Cobblestone story, Winter Soulstice, which is due out in December. I'll be a very busy girl in the next couple of weeks!
So many stories, so little time!
Ooh-I almost forgot to pimp one of my writer friends! This week I really want you to take a look at an anthology edited by Phaze author and editor Alessia Brio called Coming Together. This is a compilation of erotic stories and poems, and all proceeds will be donated to the American Red Cross for disaster relief efforts. This is a special Hurricane Relief edition-important because too many victims of Hurricane Katrina are still homeless and suffering. Please be a part of this vital relief effort-and find some wonderful reading at the same time! You can buy Coming Together at www.Phaze.com
