A friend returns!
I'm very excited to find that my dear friend, Thaddeus Brighton has returned to the Blogosphere! He was the assistant to an author friend of mine, and I've always adored him. He's tons of fun, especially for us fashion girls. You can visit him here. Welcome back, Thaddeus!
What else am I up to? Well, I'm supposed to be writing, but I'm just starting a new book, which is always excruciating for me, so I admit I've been a bit slow about it. I love the premise for this story, and love my heroine and my hero is hotttttt, but I'm always so afraid of doing it wrong that I can't bear to get beyond the idea of a new story swirling around in my head. Does that make me neurotic? Of course, most writers I know are just as neurotic as I am. Or close, anyway. I think it comes with the territory.
I was researching writing quotes recently for an article I'm writing. There are a few which pretty much sum up what writing is like for me:

"The good writing of any age has always been the product of someone's neurosis, and we'd have a mighty dull literature if all the writers that came along were a bunch of happy chuckleheads. " ~William Styron

“People on the outside think there's something magical about writing, that you go up in the attic at midnight and cast the bones and come down in the morning with a story, but it isn't like that. You sit in back of the typewriter and you work, and that's all there is to it.” ~Harlan Ellison

"If I'm trying to sleep, the ideas won't stop. If I'm trying to write, there appears a barren nothingness. ~Carrie Latet

Yeah, we're a neurotic bunch.
Anyway, enough whining...
Otherwise, I'm looking forward to the upcoming writer's conferences: RT (Romantic Times) in April and the RWA conference in July. I'm already registered and planning and making costumes for the RT parties, which I'm having way too much fun with. I've spent the last several days simply making fairy wings! I know, I know, I should have been writing. I'm going to write right now. I swear. I really am. Perhaps after I have some of those chocolate-covered pretzels I bought yesterday. And doesn't my toilet need scrubbing...?

Bachelor Auction on Gemma Halliday's Blog!
My friend and critique partner of many years, Gemma Halliday, is having a Valentine's Day auction on her blog to raise money to benefit victims of domestic violence. Check out her website for details, and win a virtual date with a hot cover model!
Is it okay if I admit that Julian is my favorite...?
Meanwhile, when I'm not gawking at the pics on Gemma's site, I've been working on the proposal and opening chapter for my next novel. This one is about a prostitute-and I can't say more until my editor sees the proposal, but I think I'm really going to like writing this one.
I must get back to work, but don't forget, my recent Bantam release, EXOTICA: SEVEN DAYS OF KAMA SUTRA, NINE DAYS OF ARABIAN NIGHTS, is on sale now at Amazon and Barnes&Noble.com, as well as at your local bookstores. And my first Spice Briefs story, SOUL STRANGERS, is on sale now at eHarlequin.com !

SOUL STRANGERS is out today!
My Spice Briefs story, SOUL STRANGERS, is available now at eHarlequin.com !
This is a sexy short story for their new erotic e-book line. Don't think of Spice as the classic Harlequin-this line is true erotica. You can check out their books on Myspace or on the Spice website.

She has come to Veracruz to heal. As the warm water of the Gulf envelops her, the ocean surges, swells, caresses her tender flesh. Suddenly he is standing there--a tanned, muscular stranger, beautiful and masculine, his smile brilliant and warm. She smiles back and he moves toward her. Soon, they touch, fondle, explore one another as the sensuous sea seduces them both. And as the sun descends, they discover new heights of passion and pleasure. Few words are spoken, no names are exchanged…yet for both of them, nothing will ever again be the same.
Go to my website to read an excerpt! www.EdenBradley.com !

And don't forget, my most recent Bantam novel, EXOTICA: SEVEN DAYS OF KAMA SUTRA, NINE DAYS OF ARABIAN NIGHTS, is on the shelves now! Find it at your local book stores or on Amazon or Barnes&Noble online! You'll find an excerpt on my website if you want a sneak peek!

Today is the first day of a new year, and what better way to begin than with a book release? Of course, I'd love to sit around and watch old movies today, but I'll be working. I'm in the final revision stage of my upcoming 2008 novel, FORBIDDEN FRUIT-blurb and book cover coming soon!

Do you make New Year's resolutions? Tell me yours and I'll tell you mine! I'm not usually one to make New Year's resolutions, but I did this year. I thought it might help me to focus on what I want for 2008. It certainly can't hurt! You can read about it on the Spice MySpace blog. There are some resolutions from other Spice authors, and their characters, too!

Happy New Year, everyone! May this year bring us all good health, love, laughter and success in whatever you do!
