My Interview at The Writing Playground & Other Stuff! |
I was recently interviewed at The Writing Playground! This is a great group of women-you can see my interview here, but don't forget to check out the rest of their site! http://www.writingplayground.com/bleachers.html I also was quoted on a cover flat for Gemma Halliday's Spying in High Heels, coming from Dorchester this August! I don't know yet if my quote will remain when the book goes to print, but look for me (as Lisa Bradley). You can check out her book cover, read my quote, and find an excerpt here: http://www.gemmahalliday.com/books/ Gemma, my critique partner of more than four years, is an awesome chick lit author, which is what I most love to read when I'm not writing smut. She's working right now on the sequal to Spying, and let me tell you, it's hysterical! In writing news, I've completed 297 pages on The Dark Garden, the first of the two books I recently sold to Bantam. The Dark Garden isn't due out until 2007, but my deadline is June 1st, so I'm writing like mad! I want plenty of time to polish it up before I have to send it in. It's going really well-the story is flowing and I feel like it's moving in the right direction. I realized yeserday that my heroine in The Dark Garden, Rowan, is the character I most relate to out of all of the book's I've written. Although her backstory is different than my own, there is definitely a lot of me in Rowan. Another 63 pages or so to go! I have to begin to wrap things up. It makes me sad to have to let these characters go. I always go through a sort of mourning period when I finish any of my stories. The Dark Garden will be the longest book I've written to date, so I've become especially attached to these 'people'. What else have I been up to? I went to my first hockey game the other night with my friend Jax. It was very exciting! We had second row seats, so when the guys slammed up against the glass at the edge of the rink, we could really feel it! The game moves fast and I didn't quite understand what the heck was going on, but it was exciting nonetheless! Jax also just sold her first book ! Her sale happened the same day as mine, funny, huh? We've already been out to celebrate with a good dinner, shopping and pedicures. We're such girls! She and her partner write erotica as Cassidy Kent. Her erotic novella, Santa's Helper, is due out from Amber Quill Press this summer. Take a look at her gorgeous website: http://www.cassidykent.com/ Today is my cat's 18th birthday! Happy Birthday T'pring! Okay-off to write! Eden |

Exciting News!!! |
It became official this morning, so I can finally tell everyone: I have a two book deal with Bantam Dell! They want The Dark Garden as well as my three-novella erotica anthology! After a five day bidding war, I'm exhausted, but it was very exciting! Now I really have to finish these books! Not sure I can come down off my cloud to write today-we'll see. I'm so excited I can hardly stand myself! Huge thanks to my wonderful agent, Roberta Brown, of the Brown Literary Agency, for handling all of this! I am so excited about working with Bantam-they are a very prestigious publishing house, with a list of amazing, best-selling authors. I really think they can take my career places other publishers can't. I can't wait to talk with my new editor and find out how and when this will all happen. Check back for more news! Eden |
